The seven outlet vertical rack mount PDU can be linked together with additional units for the correct amount of controlled outlets that fit in the space provided. This unit features a sacrificial surge module that can be replaced without replacing the entire unit.

The 6 individually controllable outlets have power metering, self-healing and automatic reboot capabilities for smarter remote management of your connected devices. An additional loop-out outlet allows daisy chaining multiple units for unlimited configuration and easy addition for new devices.
RemovableSurge Protection Modules
The effectiveness of a surge protector weakens with every single surge. Instead of leaving your devices vulnerable or replacing the entire system any time it takes a hit, two removable surge protection modules (MOVs) allow you to replace just the modules. The app lets you see their percentage of remaining life (Surge Mileage) so you can monitor the condition of the MOVs and schedule servicing to replace as needed.
FlexibleMounting Options
Mounting equipment on the backof the rack that would hit a traditionalvertical PDU? Mount one PR-V7PI above and one below. For a full rack with only a 1RU space available, rotate the unit and mount it horizontally. Link multiple units together for plenty of controlled outlets.

Big Dog Power is a solid piece of networking equipment that can protect your network on multiple levels. The fact that you’re not losing a device, instead you are replacing a surge module when a surge happens is awesome. I personally tested the new Big Dog Power Products from Metra AV. The products were built well and performed as expected plus the app was easy to use.
